April is National Poetry Month, and the Copper Queen Library is planning a month of poetic activities to celebrate poets and poetry, starting with the Balcony Scene. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Noon until 12:30, local poets will take turns reading their works from the second floor balcony, broadcasting their words out onto Main Street.

Logan Phillips works to create new opportunities for the intersection of poetry and wider society.
As a bilingual poet, performer and DJ he tours his art throughout the US, Latin America and beyond. Born to a family of Irish-Slavic descent and raised in the Arizona / Sonora borderlands, Phillips lived in and around Mexico City 2006-2011, where he contributed to organizing and hosting the country's first regular poetry slam series.
Also in 2007 Logan began playing house parties and mezcalería-speakeasies in Cuernavaca as DJ Dirtyverbs.
Teaching and facilitating has been an important part of Phillips' artistic practice since 2005, he currently serves as Codirector of Spoken Futures, Inc. whose programs include the Tucson Youth Poetry Slam.
Phillips was recently the only cultural worker recognized as 40 Under 40 by the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Arizona Daily Star.

Subjects will include Our Senses, Counting and Comparing, Geometry and Attributes, Sorting and Classifying, and Patterning and Sequencing. This Club is designed to give parents/caregivers tips for supporting their children's math and science development at home.

Bisbee Yoga Instructor Sharon Stetter's Kids Yoga and Mindfulness Class is a fun and engaging program for kids ages 3 - 8. Children will learn to stretch, move and grow physically, socially and emotionally as they learn to connect within as well as with others, while having a ton of fun. Yoga mats will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own towel or mat to work on.
