Tuesday, March 7, 2023
The average American household has many Internet-enabled devices - computers, phones, tablets, entertainment devices, smart home devices, and appliances. The news is continually filled with articles about data breaches. Americans are very concerned about the vulnerability of their devices. They worry about data breaches at government agencies and private business-es. But at the same time, most Americans don't know about or don't follow safety and security best practices on their own devices. In this session, we will cover the areas people should be most concerned about and review a list of best practices for individuals and families.
LISA BRAITERMAN retired as the Chief Financial and Operating Officer for Brewster Academy, a private boarding and day school in New Hampshire, in 2019. Her portfolio included finance, information technology, buildings, risk management, food service, and transportation. Before joining Brewster, Lisa was a CFOO in public schools and in private construction and had a lengthy career as a financial consultant in other industries. Lisa has presented at a number of regional and national conferences on cyber security practices, data breach prevention, and breach and ransomware recovery in schools. She and her husband, artist David Neufeld renovated a house in Old Bisbee that features lots of (well-secured) technology.
