CQL Program : Consent Based Siting Project with Nich Weller, ASU

Saturday, February 17, 2024

Why This Project? This project seeks to empower communities to hold conversations about big decisions, like where to put a power plant or when to invest in new projects. We’re hosting workshops like this one to develop community engagement tools to sup-port these conversations. When complete we’ll share our findings and tools with our partner communities so they, in turn, can use them. Time: We ask for 4 hours of your time. During which we will have discussions, test activities, and have lunch. The Return: Our dedicated team of researchers, evaluators, and students will create tools that can be used to guide future community discussions.

Your voice, your lived experience, and your insights matter. You have key insights about how decisions should made in your community. This project is centered around the paths that make the most sense to get the information needed to make good choices.

DEMOCRACY We aim to empower communities and foster democratic decision making about where things are built and how communities benefit

DECISIONS What big decisions does your community face and how should those choices be made? Who should be involved and how? Arizo-na communities face all sorts of challenges. Join us and help create tools and activities that empower communities to create the future they want.

DEDICATION We want to learn from communities about how they’d like decisions made. We’re developing discussion-based activi-ties and want to hear about your suggestions! Your voice will help us build activities later in the project hosted throughout Arizona in 2025.
