The City owned and operated cemetery is not a perpetual care facility. The City is responsible for the selling of Cemetery plots; assist with research of people buried at the EGC on the database; proper burial documentation; opening and closing only; and the maintenance of the EGC facilities (not graves). In January there will be a Webpage where people can do their Research on our database. A database on the Evergreen Cemetery is being developed from various sources dating back to 1912. Request for grave locations average 4 per week, and some are quite time consuming since the records accuracy depended upon the person recording the data, and the way the data was maintained varied with each person. In January the City will be unveiling its citizen user friendly data Base. Citizens, family members and researchers will have access to the data base.
